Discounted tickets can only be purchased in advance from the Matkahuolto online store. You can purchase full-price tickets from the Matka Mäkelä Oy driver when boarding the bus. Standard discounts (such as for students or seniors) also apply to tickets purchased on the bus. Please remember to present your discount card when boarding the bus.

Discounted tickets are available in limited quantities and are not available at all for the most popular departures. The price depends on the date and departure you’re looking for. If you’re looking for tickets for a date further in the future, it may be because promotional tickets become available for purchase about a month before the travel date.

When purchasing an online ticket, you’ll be asked to provide the name of one passenger or a 5–10 character unique identifier. This means you’ll need to provide the names of all travelers. It’s sufficient to enter either an identifier or a single name on the reservation to verify your right to travel.

The receipt is not valid as a ticket. The driver will find the trip you purchased under your name or the ID you selected when you board the vehicle. You did not receive a ticket because you do not need a paper copy when purchasing a Nettilippu from the Matkahuolto online store.

Complaints must be submitted directly to Matkahuolto at 0200 4000. You can fill out the Online Ticket Issue Form on Matkahuolto’s website, and they will contact you. Unfortunately, we cannot view tickets purchased through Matkahuolto in advance or payments made to them; instead, we only receive name details/identifiers directly from Matkahuolto just before the departure.

Unfortunately, we are unable to assist in these cases. Matka Mäkelä Oy is not responsible for tickets purchased through Matkahuolto; all changes and cancellations must be made directly through Matkahuolto, tel. 0200 4000. We do not have advance access to tickets purchased through Matkahuolto; instead, we receive only name details/identifiers directly from Matkahuolto just before the departure. Matka Mäkelä Oy accepts debit and credit cards, as well as Visa Electron, on its buses; however, Diners and Amex cards are not accepted.

You may bring pets on Matka Mäkelä Oy’s buses. There is a one-time fee of 5 euros per pet per trip.

Bicycles are allowed on Matka Mäkelä Oy buses. There is a one-time fee of 5 euros per bicycle per direction.

The Busflix travel card is a travel card issued by Matka Mäkelä Oy that allows you to travel only on scheduled bus routes operated by Matka Mäkelä Oy. Alternatively, you can inquire at Matkahuolto and purchase travel cards that are valid on routes operated by other companies as well.

No need. Your Busflix membership is valid until further notice, and you can cancel it at any time.

After cancellation, the contract remains in effect until the end of the current month, for which payment has already been made. Unfortunately, we do not issue refunds or provide credits for partially used months. If you cancel your membership, your card will automatically expire at the end of the current month.

A break can only be taken for a full month. In other words, you cannot take a break for a single week without being charged. However, the break does not have to follow calendar months; it can span two months. You must notify us of the break before the invoice for that month is generated, i.e., before the 1st of the month.

In some cases, the card may become damaged, in which case we ask that you contact our office immediately. The driver cannot repair the card on the bus or determine what is wrong with it.

If a customer has misused the Busflix travel card, otherwise violated the terms of the agreement, or failed to pay the invoice by the due date, Matka Mäkelä Oy reserves the right to terminate the Busflix agreement mid-term without notice and deactivate the Busflix travel card. In these cases as well, we recommend contacting us personally so we can resolve the situation.

We will confirm your reservation by email or mail no later than the next business day. At the same time, we will send you an invoice via your chosen delivery method. If you haven’t received a paper invoice within a week or an email invoice within three business days, please contact us so we can look into the matter.

An itinerary was provided at the time of booking, specifying the deadline by which reservations must be made. Unless otherwise stated, you have the right to cancel your reservation free of charge up to this date. For cancellations made after this date, Matka Mäkelä Oy reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of €50 per person for cancellations and changes in accordance with Section 15(1)(3) of the Package Travel Act, as well as the actual (e.g., charges levied by hotels and airlines).

Special terms and conditions apply to nearly all trips organized by Matka Mäkelä Oy. In accordance with these terms, in the event of a last-minute cancellation—including due to illness—cancellation coverage must be claimed through your insurance policy. For this reason, we recommend purchasing travel and baggage insurance that includes adequate cancellation coverage from your own insurance company at the time of booking. Upon request, Matka Mäkelä Oy can provide copies of invoices and travel certificates to be attached to your insurance claim.

Please contact our office regarding lost and found items. For example, many black gloves are left on the buses, so a detailed description will help us locate your specific pair.
