Nature, tranquility and local flavors

A relaxing evening immersed in Finnish sauna culture at two unique locations. This experience combines the gentle heat of a traditional smoke sauna, the peace of lake nature, and delicious local flavors.

The evening begins in the atmospheric smoke sauna at Kinkamon Pirtti and continues at the historic lakeside sauna of Viikinhovi on the shores of Lake Keurusselkä. A sauna guide accompanies you throughout the journey, introducing sauna traditions and guiding you into relaxation.

Duration approx. 7 hours, year-round on weekdays (Additional charges apply on public holidays.)

Authentic Smoke Sauna & Culture Experience

A 3-day journey into the heart of Finnish sauna culture

A deep dive into the Finnish way of life through three traditional smoke saunas, lake nature, and cultural sites. Over three days, you’ll experience the highlights of Central Finland – sauna traditions, UNESCO sites, and local everyday life.

You will stay at the historic Viikinhovi and travel comfortably with Matka Mäkelä transportation. A sauna guide enriches the experience with stories, guidance, and relaxation moments.

Includes:

  • Guided tour of Keuruu Old Church, one of Finland’s finest wooden churches.
  • “Live Like a Local” day at Kinkamon Pirtti. Help heat the sauna, visit reindeer, and walk the “Elf Trail” in the forest.
  • Guided visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Petäjävesi Old Church
  • Smoke sauna and traditional bowl-washing at Vanha Väätänen.
  • Guided relaxation (sauna yoga or breathing exercise)
  • 2 x lunch, 1 x buffet dinner, 1 x campfire dinner (flame-grilled salmon) in a kota hut.

Kuusijärvi Holiday Cottages

Cottage accommodation for a total of 16 people (+ additional extra beds available)

Saunas:

  • Wood-heated saunas connected to the cottages (4 in total)
  • Sauna capacity: 3–4 people per cottage

Nature / activities:

  • Hot tub for 8 people
  • Campfire shelter by a small pond
  • Pihlajavesi nature trails pass by the area (including a cycling route)
  • Fishing on Lake Kuusijärvi or at Pihlaiskoski rapids

Toppala Cottages

No accommodation available (Tentsile tree tent for 2–3 people)
