Etelä-Konnevesi National Park is known for its clean water, ruggedly beautiful landscapes, and diverse nature. A guided kayaking tour takes you to routes accessible only by water. During the tour, the guide ensures safety, selects the route, and shares interesting stories about the area’s nature, history, and wildlife. You can read more about Etelä-Konnevesi National Park and its nature here.
The peaceful rhythm of kayaking gives you time to pause, breathe, and take in your surroundings. With a bit of luck, you might see an osprey soaring overhead or a loon diving into the clear water. Description of the trip
This guided kayaking tour in Etelä-Konnevesi National Park is suitable for everyone, and no prior kayaking experience is required. Tavinsula´s guide will provide an introduction to kayaking techniques and water safety before departure. The guide will accompany and assist you throughout the tour.
The bus stops at the Hanhitaipale junction and drops off the participants there. Tavinsula´s canoeing guide will be waiting for you. It is about a one-kilometer walk from the junction to the starting point of the canoeing trip. Pack everything you’ll need for the day into your backpack and wear good, comfortable shoes. The Hanhitaipale crossroads serves as the starting and ending point of the kayaking trip.
The canoeing route runs between the islands to Lake Kalajanjärvi, from where we’ll hike to the Vuori-Kalaja campfire site for lunch. Lunch is included in the tour price. After that, the hike continues over the summit of Kalajanvuori back to the canoes. The climb to the summit of Kalajanvuori is steep and rocky. You can read a more detailed route description here. There will be an opportunity to go swimming during the trip, so be sure to bring your swimsuit and towel. Dress appropriately for the weather.
After the canoeing trip, we’ll walk back to the Hanhitaipale junction, where a bus will pick up the paddlers.
